Course Information
The Institute’s School Leadership Course: Transforming Self, Community & Society is designed and presented by some of the most experienced and engaging school leaders in our community. It provides emerging and experienced school leaders the framework and learning for transforming the work of guiding, managing, and leading a public or private school. By studying and practicing skills in leadership theories and practices, community building sciences, and conceptual frameworks for solving challenges in complex times, participants are able to truly transform their school communities. Our cohort-based learning model takes place over two years. Virtual and in-person options are available.

About the Institute
The Institute emphasizes leadership development in the following areas:
Learning about oneself as a leader and as an instrument of change.
Creating productive and fulfilling relationships in leadership that build trust and common purpose that results in a thriving culture.
Understanding leadership within emerging complexities, paradigm shifts, and evolving systems in the world that form unique perspectives for schools.
Participants complete AN engaging, interdisciplinary, and highly practical curriculum that includes:
Learning from widely recognized research and experienced faculty, as well as hands-on interactive training.
Whole cohort, small groups, and one-on-one learning experiences.
Opportunities for self-reflection, self-assessment, and feedback.
Exploration and discovery in the form of a leadership practicum per module.
Interaction among a learning community of fellow peers.
Individual coaching and mentoring.
Certifications:
Modules 1-6 (or, the entire Institute curriculum): Completion of course requirements leads to a leadership certificate from Loyola University of Maryland’s Graduate School of Montessori Studies.
In tandem with Whole School Leadership’s own Leadership Training, we collaborate with Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) to offer the AMI Administrative Certificate Course. See our Registration page for current offerings.
